Last Train to Nibroc

P.W. Enns Concert Hall
783 Mountain Avenue, Winkler, MB
In December 1940, an eastbound train carries the bodies of the great American writers Nathaniel West and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Passengers include shy and religious May, who shares her seat with a charming young, discharged flyer Raleigh. Their paths continue to cross over the years and an unlikely bond forms, one that continues to blossom in ways neither of them could ever have expected. A funny, touching portrait of two people searching for happiness.

Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra

Experience an evening of compositions by four great composers that highlight individual sections of the WSO with Maestro Julian Pellicano conducting, in the program Mozart and Serenades. Mozart's classical melodies in the Haffner Symphony meet Dvorak's Czech folk tunes in his Serenade in D minor. French composer Faure's's gently evocative Pavane and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in C major bring the Romantic touch to his concert of perfectly matched intimacy and splendour. A great concert ending a great 45th Anniversary Season for Southern Manitoba Concerts.

Valley Arts Concert - "A Prairie Christmas"

The Nadeau Ensemble performs "A Prairie Christmas", a captivating concert of music to celebrate the season and honour special traditions. On the pedal harp and vocals, Manitoba native Janelle Nadeau, world-renown Celtic harpist and vocalist Kim Robertson, are joined by instrumentalist Joaquin Ayala, who plays a collection of rare instruments dating from the 9th century. All three have toured in years past as part of Winter Harp, which will be taking a sabbatical for a year. This Valley Arts Concert of beautiful and inspiring Christmas music will be an event you will not want to miss.
